Monday 29th September,1997. The first official chapel session for the quarter heralded many new changes. Not only is chapel on a new day but the new slip system requires students to sign their I.D.numbers instead of their names. But most importantly the current college President and Academic Vice-President - Dr. T. Leslie Ferdinand and Dr. Brian Wong respectively - made their debut.

The Academic V.P.,"born in the year of the dog", introduced himself as a dedicated, loyal, hard worker, committed to serving the best interest of the student body.

The President made history by allowing his inaugural address to be taken inpart by a representative of the noble director of Campus Security. It was a fantastic speech which did much to allay the fears of the female student body. We look forward to more of the same, Mr. President.

Monday 6th October, 1997. The second chapel session of the quarter was a time of fellowship. The student body and faculty divided into academic clubs. The old met the new and immediately set about the task of planning club activities for the new year. The campus body greatly anticipates the fulfillment of these plans.

Monday 13th October, 1997, student services took chapel. Dr. Orlando Moncrieffe, the head of the Department, introduced the Deans and College Psychologists. Meanwhile, during the singing of the school song, high drama unfurled. It was stand and sing or be cited. Students were given a lesson in patriotism as they found it was mandatory to stand in honour of our esteemed college. Vigilant lecturers coerced students to stand, and those who refused were duly cited. Remember students, love of God, country, and college are all important.

Monday 20th October, 1997,theA.S.B. started chapel with a 'bang' or rather a drum roll. The new A.S.B. executive filed in amidst drum rolls and flags. It was a colourful start. The body wasthen sworn in by Dr. H. Thomas after the momentous speech by the new A.S.B. President, Biology major Mr. Leslie A. Hislop.

In a voice loaded with deep emotion, Leslie informed the student body that "it was time to progress together with integrity" or so it would seem. After all we cannot gain much without each other.

The English Club did it again Monday 27th October, 1997. In another unforgettable performance, they portrayed the growth, spread, and even the corruption of English. Tessa Hoyte gave a rather convincing performance as the mother of modern english. Well done English Club, it was truly memorable. We look forward to the next event.

Monday 3rd November, 1997, Club Ayti -The History/Social Studies Club sought to dispel commonly believed myths about History. Roland Sealy was a rather realistic drifter as he sought to send the message "if you don't know where you came from you can never know where you are going". The Dominican club helped by sharing their rich cultural history with us in the form of a dance. The enthusiastic crowd could hardly restrain its applause as the Dominicans did their stuff on stage.

Monday 10th November, 1997, Ullanda Innocent brought all her drama, story, and song to the C.U.C. auditorium. She continued to minister in the Week of Prayer which had started Fridaynight and continued to Saturday. The crowd was enthralled with her Hollywood stories and personal testimonies of Christian conversion. Thanks Ullanda.

Monday 17th November, 1997, Dr. Wong returned in his own unique style, diligently going about the schools Academic Affairs. New Examination procedures were introduced by the Head of the Examination Council, Carlton Drepaul. The rest of the chapel was given to academic clubs for planning the rest of the year.

Well, that's all for now. See you next quarter, next Chapel Time.
