Thanks to the Brothers for me is a celebration of the unique beauty of the soulful character of the West Indian male, individually and collectively. The book is divided into two sections "Truth be Told" and "Soul to Soul". The first section is a generaI'tribute written in appreciation of the West Indian male as a collective body, while the second section is comprised of works written in appreciation of the individual relationships which I share with family and friends.

The first section "Truth be Told", seeks to examine the many dimensions of the West Indian male as; friend, father, teacher and lover, from the female perspective. The works in this section express the positive and uplifting experiences that I have had with this unique collective. The truth to be found throughout this entire section is that the virtues of love, honour, truth and friendship are universal.

The second section "Soul to Soul", gives tribute to men who have had an impact on my life ftom a more personal perspective. All of these men are relatives and friends who have restored my faith in the beauty of the male spirit inspiring me to say from the depths of my heart; "thanks to the brothers that are men".

Thanks to the Brothers expresses fundamental realities which apply not only to the West Indian male but to all "real men", regardless of race, class or.ethnicity. It is written with stark honesty from the center of my soul, and my only desire is that it touches yours.
